Randy Ray
Pastor

Pastor Randy Ray is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, and holds a Master of Religious Education degree from Temple Baptist Seminary. In 1988, he received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity and in 1976, he founded the Metro Baptist Church and School in Nashville, Tennessee.  

Since February of 1992, he has been the Senior Pastor of North Florida Baptist Church and its many ministries in Tallahassee, Florida. In May 1997, Temple Baptist Seminary awarded Pastor Ray the “Roberson Faulkner Pastoral Leadership Award.” In 2006, Tennessee Temple University of Chattanooga, Tennessee honored him with the first “Prestigious Trustee Award.”

In addition to his pastoral duties in the church and work with North Florida Christian School and other ministries, he hosts television programs in Tallahassee on television station WTBC, an outreach ministry of the church. North Florida Baptist Church also founded and operates the Haven of Rest rescue mission in Tallahassee and Frenchtown Chapel, a Sunday morning extension ministry.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, in 1972 he married the former Janice (Jan) Dozier, his elementary school sweetheart. The Rays have three adult sons Nathan (married to Caroline), Matthew (married to Carly) and Paul. The Rays have one grandchild, Bradford. Besides opportunities to speak in churches and conferences, Pastor Ray speaks to various groups in Tallahassee and is also published in books and magazines.
