Pastor Ray is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, and holds a Master of Religious Education degree from Temple Baptist Seminary. In 1988, he received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity. In 1976, he founded the Metro Baptist Church and School in Nashville, Tennessee.

Perry Gaines
Executive Pastor

God called Perry to the ministry in 2001, where he has served in the position of Executive Pastor.   Perry was licensed in 2003, ordained in 2005 and joined the staff at North Florida Baptist in 2008.  He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Diana, for 31 years.  They have two children, Brent and Jill, and two grandchildren, Anthony and Isabella.

Rick Fielding

Rick Fielding has been the School Administrator at North Florida Christian since February of 1993 and involved in Christian education for over 30 years. He and his wife (Jeannie) have two daughters. Michelle lives in Bainbridge where her husband is a Youth Pastor. Sheryl and her husband are active members of NFBC. The Fielding's have six grandchildren.  Rick is a  member of The Board of Reference of the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS) and is a member of the Editorial Committee for Life@School magazine. 

Larry Martin

Larry Martin came to North Florida Baptist Church in September of 2005 after serving in two churches for a total of 23 years of full-time Music Ministry in the Nashville, TN area. Larry’s passion for ministry revolves around building a vibrant Music Ministry where people are empowered to exercise their individual gifts for the glory of the Lord. A graduate of Georgetown College, Larry and his wife Susie have been happily married for 27 years and have one son, Luke.

David W. Brooks

David Brooks, a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, is the Minister of Pastoral Care at North Florida Baptist Church. He joined the staff on April 25, 2004. A former pastor in South Carolina, Georgia, and West Virginia, he and his wife Brenda have four children: Shelley, Susan, David and Benjamin. They also have two granddaughters. David oversees the evangelism outreach and the Seniors ministries. 


Chris Hickox
Minister to Youth

Chris Hickox became the Youth Pastor at North Florida Baptist Church in October of 2007. He is a former Airborne Ranger, and has served in the military over seven years. Chris and his wife, Sandra, are from Savannah, Georgia. They have two children: CJ, a six year old boy, and Hailey, a three year old girl.  Chris and Sandra have a heart for young people and a desire to encourage them, and help them navigate the teen years.



Samantha Thompson

Samantha Thompson is a 2004 graduate of Pensacola Christian College where she earned a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education.  She taught for four years in Nashville, Tennessee before moving to Thomasville, Georgia. Samantha married Clint Thompson in June of 2008 and together they live in Thomasville. 

Jan Ray

As Personnel Director, Jan coordinates and implements policies and programs in the area of employment and employee services. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. Jan faithfully serves as our Pastor's wife and teaches a children's Sunday School class.

Daniel Lethers
Media Director

Daniel Lethers joined the North Florida Baptist Church staff as Media Director in the fall of 2002. He is a 1999 graduate of Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN and a 1993 graduate of the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY. Daniel and his wife, Sherri, have three children: Marcus, Luke, and Selah. Daniel ensures that all events are produced with the highest quality. He is available to assist you with your media needs.

Barbara Linton

Barbara is a graduate of North Florida Christian School and Liberty University. She joined the North Florida Baptist Church staff in 1992. Barbara serves as our Administrative Assistant to the Executive Pastor and is active in the church's music ministry as an organist. She and her husband, Jay, have two sons: John Paul and Danny. 

Cindy Walker
Senior Secretary

Cindy moved to Tallahassee from Dallas, Texas in August 1998, joining the North Florida Christian ministry and becoming a part of North Florida Baptist in January 2007.  She is originally from Tennessee and attended East Tennessee State University.  Cindy and her late husband of 26 years, Bill, have three children and one grandchild.
